    On Business

    On Business

When visiting London on a business trip you will be hard pressed to find a more ideally located hotel; only minutes walk from Green Park Underground station with its direct access to Canary Wharf, Victoria, Euston & Kings Cross / St Pancras rail stations, Heathrow Airport and the whole of the West End of London.

Once you have finished your meetings for the day, you are in the perfect location to take your clients out for an evening or visit one of the West End’s multitude of award winning shows or why not enjoy a meal in one of the many Michelin starred restaurants within a few minute’s walk?

      Entertainment

In a city like London, the world of entertainment truly opens up to you, from award winning musicals to classical plays in unique venues like Shakespeare’s Globe or the Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre. Plus, the opportunity to see the world’s most famous music stars, actors and everyone and everything in between, London will allow you to experience it all. Our Concierge team will be delighted to assist you in making these reservations or just recommending some of the many great things to see or do in the evenings.

Thanks to our superb location, many of London’s venues are within walking distance – Piccadilly Circus is a 10 minute walk - so avoid fighting for a taxi after the show and take a stroll back down Piccadilly doing some window shopping en route.  A perfect end to an evening out!

        Culture

Where do you begin to talk about the culture in London? Not only is the city itself over 2000 years old with a history unlike many other cities, but it is still a world leader when it comes to showcasing new cultures and moving with the times.

From poetry to history, from art to music, London has it all. For more detailed information on all tourist attractions please visit: www.vistlondon.com/attractions/culture

          Shopping

When visiting a city like London, you cannot help but realise that you are in one of the Fashion Capitals of the world.  From cruising the boutiques of Bond Street & Knightsbridge, to experiencing Harrods or Selfridges, to battling through Oxford Street in the build up to Christmas, London has something for every style. For the more casual shopper, Covent Garden & Carnaby Street are perfect and all are within walking distance of the hotel or a short ride by bus or taxi.

Don’t forget London’s fabulous selection of markets. Camden, Portobello, Covent Garden and Petticoat Lane are probably the most famous but there are many others where you can while away the hours pottering around the stalls choosing special and unique treasures to remind you of your visit.

And if the weather is grey & wet, then there is always the shopping mecca of Westfield Mall at White City or Westfield Stratford City where you can take a peek at the Olympic Village while you are there.

              Eating and Drinking

The UK may not be famous for our culinary skills but visiting London will allow you to try food & drink from every corner of the earth. If you can name a country, we probably have a restaurant which will cover it – within a 5-10 minute walk of The Washington Mayfair Hotel we have Italian, French, Chinese, Japanese, Lebanese, Turkish, Indian, Thai and even a Polish-Mexican and this is not including the Michelin starred restaurants and of course the British favourite of ‘pub grub.’

Mayfair is also renowned for a fabulous night life where you always have the chance of seeing the latest Hollywood Hot Property, Chart Topping Artists and members of the Royal Family. Although there are, of course, many options for those who would prefer something slightly more sedate.
