<\/span>Start: The Mayfair Hotel<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

<\/span>Your historic journey through Mayfair begins at <\/span>The Washington Mayfair Hotel<\/span><\/span><\/a>. This hotel has a <\/span>fascinating history<\/span><\/span><\/a> dating back to the 19<\/span>th<\/span><\/span> century. Boarding houses were on the hotel site before it was reconstructed into a purpose-built hotel just before the start of World War I. Take in its Art Deco origins before beginning on your journey.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span>Stop 1: Green Park and Buckingham Palace<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

<\/span>Head south out of the hotel towards Picadilly, where you will find Green Park, one of London’s eight <\/span>Royal Parks<\/span><\/span><\/a>. This serene green space has a history dating back to the 17th century when it was endorsed by Charles II in 1668 and stocked with deer. Take a leisurely walk and admire the natural beauty before stopping to see arguably one of the most famous London landmarks \u2013 Buckingham Palace, built in 1705.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span>Stop 2: St. James’s Palace and Square<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/b>Take a wander from green park along Pall Mall where you will reach St James Palace. This building goes back even earlier in history, built largely between 1531 and 1536 by Henry VIII. You can see some of the original Tudor construction still standing today. Take a detour through St. James Square before heading back toward Piccadilly.<\/span><\/p>\n

Stop 3: Burlington Arcade<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/b>Just off Piccadilly, you’ll find Burlington Arcade, a covered shopping promenade first constructed in 1819. It was one of London’s first shopping arcades and retains its charm with its glass roof and exclusive boutique shops.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Stop 4: Saville Row<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/b>Next, head past the royal Academy of Arts and up Cork Street before taking a right onto Savile Row. This World-Renowned street is historically famous for men\u2019s tailoring dating back to 1822.<\/p>\n

The square has played host t<\/span>o <\/span>numerous<\/span> events<\/span> past and <\/span>present, <\/span>and<\/span> was home to Joh<\/span>n<\/span> Adams and a youn<\/span>g <\/span>JFK.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span>Stop 6: Marble Arch<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/b>If particularly want to stretch your legs you can continue on heading North towards <\/span>M<\/span>a<\/span>rble<\/span> Arch<\/span><\/span><\/a>. This majestic white marble triumphal arch stands as a symbol of London’s history and architectural elegance. Originally designed in 1827 by renowned architect John Nash as the main entrance to Buckingham Palace, the arch was later relocated to its current location in 1851.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span>End: Mount Street Gardens and Berkeley Square<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

<\/span>Return back to Grosvenor square on your way back to the start and find the hidden gem of Mount Street Gardens. This serene park now offers a quiet escape from the bustling city but has an interesting historical past from 1723. Finally, finish your tour at Berkeley Square, known for its stunning plane trees, upscale residences, and fashionable destination. The square has been featured in literature, music, and art throughout the centuries.<\/span><\/p>\n
